monday's mutt

In memory of Mac, I am going to begin a weekly series titled Monday's Mutt.  

It only seems appropriate that our first Monday's Mutt would be one of my very own. 

So. . .without further adieu, I introduce:

Maeve 

Maeve is a  1 and 1/2 year old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix that was rescued from the Charlotte Humane Society in July 2008.  

GT: How did you get your name?  

Maeve: My name was actually Cara in the shelter, but you and Taylor changed it to Maeve because  it means 'joy'.  I think I'm supposed to bring you joy (which I'm trying really hard to do).

GT: Do you have any nicknames?

Maeve: I have lots of nicknames.  Maevis, Maevis Davis, MaevisD, MD, rugrat, lovebug.  Sometimes I hear you say "you little stinkpot" but I'm pretty sure you aren't talking to me.

GT: What types of activities do you enjoy?

Maeve: What's activities?  That is a big word for me.

GT: Okay, what types of things do you like to do outside?

Maeve: Oh, I like to run and chase squirrels, and go to the dog park and go for long walks.

GT: What is your favorite toy?

Maeve: Wow. . .that is a toss-up.  I'd have to say my Planet Dog Christmas Bulb or my Kong Wubba.  I really like stuffed, plush toys with squeakers but you stopped bringing those home.  Something about being tired of cleaning white stuffing all over the house?

GT: Maeve, why do you like to steal my unmentionables from the laundry pile?

Maeve: I have no idea what you are talking about. 

GT: Do you have any tricks?

Maeve: I'm a good snuggler.  Is that a trick?  I'm trying really hard to sit when I'm supposed to. And not to jump on people because I know you think it is rude to jump on guests.  I'm just so excited that they came to see ME. 

GT: But you do realize that that people really don't come over just to see you, right?

Maeve: Yeah, sure, uh huh.

GT: Do you have any pet peeves?

Maeve: Just going into my crate when you leave.  It's lonely in there.  And not very comfortable. 

GT: But if you didn't chew things in the house, you wouldn't have to go in the crate.

Maeve: Whatever.

GT: What is one word that describes you?

Maeve: Crazy

GT: Anything else you'd like to let everyone know about you?  

Maeve: Just that I love my life!
