should never successful busy nice?

I was reading the January/February issue of Body + Soul magazine this week and there is an article about swapping out low-energy and negative sounding words for more positive and uplifting ones.  The suggestion was to eliminate subtle negative words such as:

                       should
                                                     never
                                                                                    busy
                                     nice
                                                               successful
  • should- a hollow word that serves to heighten ones insecurity
  • nice- the word nice is like extra bulk in our verbal artillery. . .(amen!)
  • successful- can serve as a subtle form of self-criticism. . .(hmmm, hadn't thought about that one)
  • never- any term that implies an absolute statement may be right for the wrong reasons and wrong for the right ones.
  • busy- has almost become a status thing, a contest to see who is busier than whom. It's amazing how much time frees up when there is something you REALLY want to do.
So from now on. . . I will always make time for kind, talented and available people like me!

Think about it. . .
